SatKirin's India Tour Has Begun
At the end of February, SatKirin left home on a spiritual journey to India to help lead the Khalsa Ladies Camp, a unique experience for women with a calling to meditate and deeply experience Mother India and the Khalsa spirit.
Their journey started out in New Delhi, where on Sunday, February 24th, SatKirin played kirtan inside the Bangala Sahib Gurdwara, the most historical Gurdwara (Sikh temple) in the city. Satkirin was invited to play three Shabads (devotional compositions). Historically it has been rare for women to play kirtan inside these Gurdwaras, though it is gradually becoming more accepted.
The group of women travelled to the city of Amritsar in Northern India to meditate in the Golden Temple, the holiest of Sikh temples. While in Amritsar last week, SatKirin played kirtan in Mata Kaulon and the Akal Tahkat, the supreme seat of religious authority for the Sikhs.
The last destination of their trip is to Anandpur Sahib (city of bliss). In this beautiful, mountainous land the women will immerse themselves in kirtan, Kundalini Yoga and meditation, and gatka, an an ancient martial art practiced by Sikh warriors for centuries.
O women of grace, take out your sword and slay your negativity and awaken your divine nature. Nurture yourself and your family with your meditative practice of Kirtan. Inspire your self and all those around you. The song of the Guru works. For elevated relationships this month, try singing along and meditating to "Bisara Ga-ee Sabh Taat Para-ee...", song #8 on SatKirin's CD Universal Prayer.
Love from India! See you back in New York where I look forward to sharing more great meditative moments with you this month
